Westlin Weavers News -- 2004 Archive
January 10, 2004 -- The Westlin Weavers will return by popular demand to the site of their 2003 debut at North County's largest Burns event of the year.
The Rabbie Burns Supper, sponsored by the North County Scots, will be held at the Lake San Marcos Country Club, San Marcos, CA, on Saturday, January 24, 2003. For more information, visit the site or contact Janette McLintock at (760) 726-3691.
The band will present music from the Burns repertoire as well as a number of contemporary Scottish and American favorites, and features the band's new line-up that debuted at First Night Escondido.
Singer/guitarist Jeanne McDougall, fiddler/vocalist Patric Petrie and percussionist/vocalist Alex McDougall are joined by David Lindquist on accordion, Ana Dalesandro on vocals and guitar, and Pete Connolly on bass and vocals. David is well-known to area Irish audiences and visitors to Balboa Park's International Cottages; Ana is an exciting young singer/songwriter who is making a name for herself throughout Southern California; and Pete is very familiar to Westlin Weaver audiences, having performed with the band on a number of occasions since summer of 2003.
Special attractions at this year's NCS Burns Supper include Scottish country dancing and a variety of rousing new instrumental tunes that show off the band's lead soloists, Patric and David.

- a performance of selected Burns songs, including a mini-Immortal Memory, at the Robert Burns Club meeting on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the Imperial House Restaurant, San Diego
