Westlin Weavers to Perform at the San Diego Scottish Highland Games

Local favorites join an exciting bill featuring nationally known headliners Wicked Tinkers, L.A. Scots, Alex Beaton

 

March 1, 2003 -- The Westlin Weavers will perform at San Diego's premier Scottish event on June 20-22, 2003.

The 30th annual San Diego Scottish Highland Games and Gathering of the Clans will be held Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22, 2003, from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM each day.

The Westlin Weavers will play two shows each day, and will join the other entertainers in a pre-Games concert on Friday night, June 20, beginning at 7:00 PM at the Moonlight Amphitheater.  Lovers of Scottish country dance are encourage to wear their ghillies, as moments of spontaneous ceilidh-type dancing are likely to occur!

The Games and the pre-Games concert will both be held at Brengle Terrace Park, 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista, CA.

Entertainment at the 30th annual Games include The Wicked Tinkers;  the L.A. Scots Pipe BandAlex BeatonBad Haggis;  and Craicmore.  A complete schedule will be posted at the SDSHG site before the event.

More than 100 Clans and Scottish organizations will have booths at this year's Gathering.  Other activities include competitions in Highland Dancing, Drum Major, Bagpipe and Drumming;  Sheep Dog Trials;  a Scottish Country Dancing demonstration;  and a Falconry exhibit.  Scottish food, drink and merchandise will be available.  For more information or to order tickets, visit the site or contact the Games at sdshgchief@earthlink.net or call (619) 645-8080.
