July 15, 2003 -- The Westlin Weavers will ring in the New Year at North County San Diego's largest New Year's Eve event.
First Night Escondido presents music and dance on 13 stages as well as the best of restaurant and vendor foods, hands-on art activities for all ages, and two dazzling fireworks displays. Now in its ninth year, First Night Escondido has grown to be North County's premiere celebration of community, the arts, and the New year.
The Westlin Weavers will perform on two stages: from 8:30-9:30 PM on the World Music Stage, located in the Lyric Court of the California Center for the Arts, and from 10:30-11:15 PM on the Variety Stage, located at the intersection of Orange and Grand.
Other highlights of this year's event include stages devoted to Latino and Country music, circus and magic acts and more; participatory arts for all ages; and family activities. More details are available at http://www.firstnightescondido.com/
The Westlin Weavers are: Jeanne McDougall on guitar, recorders, dulcimers and vocals; Patric Petrie on fiddle, mandolin and vocals; and Alex McDougall on vocals and percussion. Guest musicians for this date include David Lindquist on accordion and Ana Dalesandro on vocals and guitar.
