Westlin Weavers to Debut at Rabbie Burns Supper

North County Scots Event Expected to be another Sell-Out!

 

January 5, 2003 -- The Westlin Weavers, an exciting new band featuring a line-up of veteran San Diego Scottish contemporary musicians, will give its debut performance at San Diego County's largest Burns event of the year.

The Rabbie Burns Supper, sponsored by the North County Scots, will be held at the Lake San Marcos Country Club, San Marcos, CA, on Saturday, January 25, 2003.  For more information, visit the site or contact Janette McLintock at (760) 726-3691.

The band will present music from the Burns repertoire as well as a number of contemporary Scottish and American favorites, and singer/guitarist Jeanne McDougall will also present the Immortal Memory.

Special guest fiddler/vocalist Patric Petrie, a native of Inverness, will join the band for this special performance, and other guest musicians are rumored to be appearing, too -- stay tuned!

The Westlin Weavers are:  Jeanne McDougall on guitar, recorders, dulcimers and vocals;  Marc Townsend on bodhran, whistles and vocals;  and Scott Linden on bass and mandolin.
